Before you can take your permit test, you must pass a state-approved Driver’s Ed course. We are partnered with a highly rated driver's ed course, but any approved course will work.
After speaking with thousands of people who have passed their written tests, we’ve learned that nothing beats reading the DMV Handbook! Here is a link to the digital version (if you prefer a physical copy, you can find them for free at any DMV location).
Now you’re ready to take the permit test! Don’t be intimidated by the DMV. Take your time and stay positive, even if you encounter a grumpy employee, your studying will pay off.
•Proof of Identity
•Social Security Number
•Two Proofs of Residency
•Driver’s Ed Certificate of Completion
•Completed DMV Application (Must be completed online via the link below)
•Parent or Guardian (They must sign your application)
•Application Fee
•Corrective Lenses (If required for the vision test)
Now that you have your permit, it’s time to get your lessons done! The DMV requires everyone under the age of 18 to take a minimum of six hours of training with a driving instructor before they can take the behind-the-wheel test. One of our highest priorities during lessons is to prepare you for that test.
After completing your driving lessons and waiting six months from the day you received your permit, it’s time to take the road test. If you’d prefer for us to take you to the exam we have you covered. Please note that the DMV does not take walk-ins for the behind-the- wheel test.
